There was a minor upset when Monopoli AN was defeated on the road by Salerno 78-72 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Mattia Coltro (184-97) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Swingman Antongiulio Bonaccorso (196-97) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Point guard Giovanni Laquintana (187-91) produced 30 points and 8 rebounds and Matteo Annese (200-95) added 14 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Salerno will meet Taranto on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monopoli AN will play against Ragusa and hope to win that game.
