Regular Season Round 3: Varese - Milano 79-82

A very close game took place in Varese between Milano and Varese. Milano (3-0) got a very close victory on the road over Varese (1-2). Milano managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Milano made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international Nicolo Melli (205-91) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Devon Hall (196-95, college: Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points. Five Milano players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Alessandro Gentile (201-92, agency: SLN) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian center John Egbunu (211-94, college: Florida) added 14 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Milano will meet at home Venezia (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Varese will play against Cremona and hope to win that game.
