Regular Season Round 3: Kouvot - PeKa 72-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kouvottaret (2-1) in Kouvola. Hosts were defeated by Peli-Karhut (3-0) 86-72. It looked good early as Kouvottaret took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Peli-Karhut had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and Kouvottaret was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-86. It was a great evening for the former international guard Linda-Lotta Lehtoranta (178-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 assists. American forward Zykera Rice (185-96, college: Gonzaga) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds. Five Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Rashida Timbilla (185-92, college: UMass) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Yasmine Blomfelt (172-99) scored 9 points. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
