Regular Season Round 1: H.Izrael - I.Nahariya 73-102

An interesting game was played in Nazareth where I.Nahariya crushed host H.Izrael with 29-point difference 102-73 on Tuesday evening. I.Nahariya shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by H.Izrael's players. The former international point guard Yogev Ohayon (189-87) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Stephaun Branch (196-95, college: UWG, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Five I.Nahariya players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Tomer Asayag (190-99) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American power forward Raven Barber (206-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: Slash Sports) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. I.Nahariya will meet at home E.Kiryat Ata in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. H.Izrael will play against M.Ma'ale Adum. in Ma'ale Adumim and hope to win that game.
