Regular Season Round 5: Lima-Horta - Azkoitia 75-69

Lima-Horta has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Azkoitia (1-4) 75-69 on Saturday. Lima-Horta looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Eliana Soriano (175-89) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Paula Tutusaus (190-90) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Lima-Horta players scored in double figures. Cameroonian forward Marguerite Effa (190-97, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Juana Molina-Prados (174-91) added 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Azkoitia's coach Andoni Lazkano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lima-Horta left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Real Canoe and Azkoitia. It was Azkoitia's third loss in a row. Lima-Horta will meet higher ranked Joventut (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azkoitia will play against Jairis and hope to win that game.
