Regular Season Round 4: Tarnow - Polonia Bytom 47-105

Very expected game when 11th ranked Tarnow (1-3) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Polonia Bytom (3-1) 105-47 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tarnow's 34. Polonia Bytom forced 23 Tarnow turnovers and had a 33-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tarnow's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Polonia Bytom made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Karol Jagoda (195-1) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Tomasz Nykaza (187-2) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Dawid Lazarz (187-0) scored 3 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polonia Bytom moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Bielsko-Biala and MKS DG 2. Newly promoted Tarnow dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Polonia Bytom will meet at home league's leader Tarn.Gory in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tarnow will play against Przemysl (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
