But Marratxi was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Barcelona 45-36 on Saturday night. Almeda forced 23 Marratxi turnovers. It was a great evening for Laia Guardia (-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 8 points and 13 rebounds. Marina Avinoa helped adding 3 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Almeda's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan power forward Aguehil Fajardo (183-99) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Azucena Garcia (-92) scored 4 points and 5 rebounds. Almeda will meet at home Mataro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marratxi will play against Casablanca (#10) in Zaragoza and hopes to get finally their first victory.
