Regular Season Round 5: SKP 08 BB - Samorin 65-61

There was no surprise in Banska Bystrica where 6th ranked Samorin (1-3) was defeated by fourth ranked SKP 08 BB (3-2) 65-61 on Saturday. SKP 08 BB forced 23 Samorin turnovers. Strangely Samorin outrebounded SKP 08 BB 38-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Nina Janstova (189-4) stepped up and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Dutch point guard Laura van Dalen (169-87) chipped in 8 points and 5 assists. The former international guard Timea Sujova (172-84) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Polish center Bianka Vaigl (180-95) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for SKP 08 BB. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Young Angels. Samorin at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. SKP 08 BB will meet league's second-placed Piestanske C. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play against SK UMB BB (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
