Regular Season Round 7: Stal - Trefl 86-78

Everything could happen in Ostrow Wlkp. at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Stal and 6th ranked Trefl had identical 4-2 record. This time Stal used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Sopot 86-78 on Sunday night. It was a great evening for American point guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side international swingman Karol Gruszecki (198-89, college: UT Arlington) responded with 22 points and Dutch guard Yannick Franke (197-96) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stal have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion (5-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Twarde Pierniki. Loser Trefl keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Zastal and King. Stal will meet at home Legia (#5) in the next round. Trefl will play against Enea Astoria and hope to secure a win.
