Regular Season Round 5: Picken Claret - Aldaia 75-64

EBA round 5 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Aldaia (2-1) against fifth ranked Picken Claret (2-1) 75-64 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aldaia. It was a key game for the second position in Group E-B. Picken Claret had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Picken Claret especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. Swingman Joan Gomez (195-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 5 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Inigo De La Iglesia (190-95) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ricardo Carrion (197-91) answered with 18 points and 4 steals and Carlos Hortelano (200-96) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aldaia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Picken Claret moved-up to second place in Group E-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Aldaia. Aldaia will play next round against strong Benidorm trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Picken Claret will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Gandia on the road.
