But Valladolid was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from San Sebastian 99-89 on Sunday night. Acunsa GBC shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Benjamin Simons (203-91, college: Drake) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swedish point guard Charles Barton (193-92, college: Oregon St.) helped adding 13 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Alec Wintering (183-95, college: Portland) with 15 points and 6 assists and Dutch power forward Jordy Kuiper (206-95, college: UNCG, agency: Inception Sports) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Acunsa GBC and four Valladolid players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Acunsa GBC will meet at home Granada (#7) in the next round. Valladolid will play against Huesca (#15) and hope to win that game.
