Regular Season Round 3: Granada - Coruna 79-88

There was a surprise result when Coruna (1-2) won against on the road Granada (2-1) 88-79 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Ward (203-97, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) helped adding 18 points. Coruna's coach Sergio Garcia Martin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Pere Tomas (202-89) with 20 points and American-Liberian guard Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) scored 18 points. Five Coruna and four Granada players scored in double figures. Coruna will meet at home Palma (#17) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Granada will play against Acunsa GBC (#6) in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
