Regular Season Round 4: Politechnika Gd. - AZS UMK 63-70

Very predictable result in Gdansk where seventh ranked AZS UMK (3-1) beat bottom-ranked Politechnika Gd. (0-4) 70-63 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Krystian Mackiewicz (188-99) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Szymon Janczak (206-0) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Filip Cebula (188-2) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stefan Marchlewski (184-98, college: Morrisville St.) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS UMK moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Tarnovia and Arka 2. Loser Politechnika Gd. still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Chelmno and SMS PZKosz. AZS UMK will meet at home league's leader Notec Inowr. in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Politechnika Gd. will play against Arka (#4) in Gdynia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
