Regular Season Round 5: Zentro Basket 2 - Alcobendas 88-79

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Zentro Basket 2 (2-3) beat higher ranked Alcobendas (2-3) in Madrid 88-79 on Sunday. Point guard Jaime Atienza (184-99) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Ivan Correa (196) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds. Jorge Tejera (200-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Alberto de la Torre (201-94) added 11 points respectively for Alcobendas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zentro Basket 2 moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Alcobendas. Alcobendas lost their third game in a row. Zentro Basket 2 will meet league's second-placed Quintanar on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alcobendas will play against Fuenlabrada 2 (#13) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
