Very expected game when bottom-ranked Ilicitano (0-3) lost to leader Jairis (3-0) in Elche 61-75 on Sunday. American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and forward Adrian Mendez (195-93) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Jairis players scored in double figures. Jairis' coach Pedro Hermogenes used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Russian Andrei Trashkov (-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Antonio Garcia (-94) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ilicitano in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Jairis. They maintain first place in Group E-C with 3-0 record, which they share with Murcia 2. Ilicitano lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with three games lost. Jairis will meet at home league's second-placed Murcia 2 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ilicitano will play against Molina (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
