Regular Season Round 5: Pyrinto - Seagulls 72-115

Very expected game in Tampere where 8th ranked Pyrinto (2-3) was crushed by fourth ranked Seagulls (4-1) 115-72 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 31 long-distance shots on high 55.4 percentage. Seagulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pyrinto's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Petteri Koponen (194-88) who scored 27 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Zaccheus Darko-Kelly (198-97, college: Providence, MT) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Seagulls players scored in double figures. Jamaican-Canadian point guard Shaquille Keith (198-93, college: Cape Breton) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Devante Foster (206-98, college: Arkansas Tech, agency: One Motive Sports) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seagulls have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kouvot. Loser Pyrinto dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with KTP Basket and Kobrat. Seagulls will meet at home Kataja (#4) in the next round. Pyrinto will play against Kataja in Joensuu and hope to secure a win.
