Regular Season Round 5: KTP Basket - Kataja 57-86
Date: October 19, 2021
The most shocking disappointment of round 5 was a home defeat of 5th ranked KTP Basket (2-3) by sixth ranked Kataja (3-2) who outscored them by 29 points 86-57. The game was mostly controlled by Kataja. KTP Basket managed to win fourth quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American guard Markel Crawford (196-94, college: Ole Miss, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 21 points. Four Kataja players scored in double figures. Forward Remu Raitanen (206-97, college: USF, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 8 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Roydell Brown (198-98, college: McNeese St.) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kataja have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vilpas. KTP Basket at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Pyrinto and Kobrat. Kataja is looking forward to face higher ranked Seagulls (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTP Basket will play on the road against Lahti (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
