Very expected game in Zgorzelec where bottom-ranked Turow (0-4) was crushed by sixth ranked Gornik (4-1) 97-60 on Wednesday. Gornik outrebounded Turow 45-33 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Turow's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Szymon Pawlak (192-98) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Marcin Dymala (187-90) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Gornik players scored in double figures. Gornik's coach Lukasz Grudniewski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Cezary Fudziak (192-95) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Maciej Marcinkowski (194-99) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gornik. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Tychy and WKK Wroclaw. Turow lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Krakow and Koszalin. Gornik will meet at home Pelplin (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Turow will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
