There was no surprise in Mogilev where bottom-ranked Grodno GrSU (0-6) was crushed by third ranked Borisfen (5-1) 120-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Borisfen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Grodno GrSU's 34 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Borisfen forced 28 Grodno GrSU turnovers and outrebounded them 57-24 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Grodno GrSU's players. American point guard Cornelius Taylor (183-96, college: FAU) scored 18 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Aleksandr Kopachev (203-95) chipped in 11 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Borisfen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Dmitriy Mahnach (180-1) with 14 points and 6 assists and forward Dmitriy Naumenko (195-3) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Borisfen moved-up to second place, which they share with Grodno. Loser Grodno GrSU still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with SDUSHOR. Borisfen will meet Tsmoki-Minsk U20 (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Grodno GrSU will play against SDUSHOR and hopes to get finally their first victory.
