Regular Season Round 4: Gorzow Wlkp. II - Widzew 66-71

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Widzew (4-0) defeated 6th ranked Gorzow Wlkp. II (2-2) in Gorzow Wielkopolski 71-66 on Saturday. Widzew forced 33 Gorzow Wlkp. II turnovers. Strangely Gorzow Wlkp. II outrebounded Widzew 45-24 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Anna Kudelska (169-98) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Nikola Tomasik (168-5) supported her with 17 points and 10 steals. Widzew's coach Anna Chodera used entire bench in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds by forward Wiktoria Keller (181-0) did not help to save the game for Gorzow Wlkp. II. Forward Gabriela Lebiecka (180-3) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Widzew have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Poznan. Loser Gorzow Wlkp. II keeps the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with Bochnia and Swarzedz. Widzew will meet at home Wisla Krakow (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gorzow Wlkp. II will play against Pol.Krakow (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
