Regular Season Round 5: Nanterre - Fos-Provence 74-85
Date: October 23, 2021
Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Provence Basket (2-3) beat on the road 11th ranked JSF Nanterre (2-3) 85-74 on Saturday. Provence Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: UConn) who scored 20 points and 4 steals. Naturalized Central African Allan Dokossi (203-99) chipped in 7 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-93, college: Fairmont St.) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Nick Johnson (191-92, college: Arizona) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. JSF Nanterre's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Provence Basket went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated JSF Nanterre. Provence Basket will meet at home Le Portel (#15) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. JSF Nanterre will play against Chalons-Reims (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
