Regular Season Round 6: Cimbis - Torta del Casar 75-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Torta del Casar and 7th ranked Cimbis had identical 1-2 record. But Cimbis was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Caceres 76-75 on Saturday night. Torta del Casar forced 20 Cimbis turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Juan Santos (196-2) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Lorenzo Diaz (195-86) chipped in 16 points. Four Torta del Casar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Angel Canas-Balina (187-97) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and Carlos Varela added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Torta del Casar (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group D-B, which they share with Badajoz and Real Betis 2. Newly promoted Cimbis dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Torta del Casar will meet higher ranked Huelva Com. (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cimbis will play against Portuense (#12) in El Puerto de Santa Maria and hope to win that game.
