Regular Season Round 8: Slask - MKS DG 102-60
Date: October 23, 2021
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourteenth ranked WKS Slask (3-6) rolled over 13th ranked MKS DG (2-6) in Wroclaw 102-60 on Saturday. WKS Slask dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG's 26. They outrebounded MKS DG 40-29 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. WKS Slask shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by MKS DG's players. The winners were led by American guard Kodi Justice (199-95, college: Arizona St.) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 assists and Turkish Kerem Kanter (207-95, college: Xavier) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four WKS Slask players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American guard Mike Lewis II (185-98, college: Duquesne) did not help to save the game for MKS DG. His fellow American import guard Steven Haney (195-95, college: LMU) added 15 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WKS Slask moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with HydroTruck. MKS DG lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Start. WKS Slask will meet at home higher ranked Trefl (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MKS DG will play against the league's second-placed Anwil (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
