Regular Season Round 6: Carolinas - Begastri 69-56

There was a minor upset in La Carolina where one of their biggest challengers Begastri (2-2) was defeated by sixth ranked Carolinas (2-2) 69-56 on Saturday. Carolinas forced 21 Begastri turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Aldo Serneguet (193-96) who scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Ruben Ortuno (-92) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Jose Fernandez (200-78) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and center Marcos Molina (202-90) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Carolinas moved-up to third place in Group E-C, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Begastri. Carolinas will meet UAF Lucentum (#7) in the next round. Begastri will play against the league's leader Jairis (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
