Regular Season Round 6: Artes - Azulejos 81-84

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Artes (1-3) was edged at home by fifth ranked Azulejos (3-1) 84-81 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Azulejos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was Pablo Gracia (197-96) who scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Carlos Oliver (180-94) chipped in 11 points. Five Azulejos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Eduard Nogues (-3) who recorded 15 points and 6 assists and Jordi Fornells (185-97) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Azulejos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group C-3, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Artes dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Palma AE and Quart. Azulejos will meet at home Mataro (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Artes will play against the league's leader Barca 2 in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
