Regular Season Round 3: Midtbyen - Bergen 85-53

Very expected game in Trondheim where Bergen (1-3) was crushed by Midtbyen (2-0) 85-53 on Saturday. Midtbyen forced 25 Bergen turnovers and outrebounded them 56-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bergen's players. The best player for the winners was forward Kari Kyrkjebo (188-1, college: UC Riverside) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Fredrikke Hylen (174-96) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals. Four Midtbyen players scored in double figures. Midtbyen's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rikke Sjumarken (180-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Maren Schutz added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Midtbyen will meet Ullern (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bergen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bergen to the arena Ulriken.
