The most surprising game was the first loss of Lucenec (4-1) on the court of seventh ranked Komarno on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Komarno 96-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lucenec. Komarno made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Lucenec turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Lucenec helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian swingman Luka Gasic (195-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points. American guard Jorden Duffy (185-96, college: N.Texas) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Komarno's coach Zlatko Jovanovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Che Bob (198-96, college: Colorado St.) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Desure Buie (179-97, college: Hofstra) added 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Lucenec. Five Komarno and four Lucenec players scored in double figures. Komarno (2-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Inter Bratislava and Iskra Svit. Lucenec at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Levice. Komarno is looking forward to face Iskra Svit (#6) at home in the next round. Lucenec will play against Spisski Rytieri (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
