Very expected game when bottom-ranked Distrito Olimpico (0-4) lost to fourth ranked Castello (3-1) in Madrid 52-60 on Sunday. Castello forced 24 Distrito Olimpico turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by point guard Clara Caceres (167-97) who scored that evening 15 points and 5 rebounds and Angolan-Portuguese power forward Artemis Afonso (175-93) supported her with 3 points and 12 rebounds. Even 13 points by Blanca Arranz (-97) did not help to save the game for Distrito Olimpico. Noelia Serrano (-1) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Mataro and Girona. Newly promoted Distrito Olimpico still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Marratxi. Castello will meet at home Lleida (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Distrito Olimpico will play against the league's second-placed Viladecans and hopes to get finally their first victory.
