Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Taranto and 12th ranked Avellino had identical 1-2 record. But Avellino was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Taranto 85-61 on Sunday night. Taranto shot 68.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Taranto especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. The winners were led by swingman Alberto Conti (195-98) who scored that evening 32 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and power forward Riziero Ponziani (204-94) supported him with 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by power forward Stefano Spizzichini (203-90) did not help to save the game for Avellino. Bosnian power forward Emin Mavric (203-98) added 13 points for lost side. Taranto (2-2) moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Avellino dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Taranto will meet at home Monopoli AN (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Avellino will play against Ragusa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
