There was no surprise when 9th ranked Ferrara (1-3) was outplayed on the road by top-ranked Scafati (4-0) 97-75 on Sunday. Scafati outrebounded Ferrara 34-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) fired 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import power forward Ed Daniel (202-90, college: Murray St.) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American-Iraqi guard Demario Mayfield (196-91, college: Angelo St.) produced 19 points and American power forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St., agency: Players Group) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Scafati moved-up to second place in A2. Ferrara at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Scafati will meet RO SAzzurra (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Ferrara will play against San Severo (#6) and hope to win that game.
