Regular Season Round 3: Carbajosa - Burgos 91-75

There was a minor upset when Burgos (1-2) lost on the road to Carbajosa (1-2) 91-75 on Sunday. Strangely Burgos outrebounded Carbajosa 39-23 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Harrison Cleary (185-97, college: UMC) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Juan Pedro Jimenez (202-97) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American center Coreontae DeBerry (208-94, college: Cincinnati) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Burgos in the defeat. Five Carbajosa and four Burgos players scored in double figures. Burgos' coach Francis Tome rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Carbajosa will meet Moron (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Burgos will play against Zornotza and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
