There was a minor upset when higher ranked Ragusa (2-2) was outscored on the road by tenth ranked Agrigento (2-2) 89-64 on Sunday. The winners were led by point guard Alessandro Grande (185-94) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (195-85, agency: BIG) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by guard Mattia Da Campo (198-97, college: Seattle) did not help to save the game for Ragusa. Swingman Andrea Picarelli (196-96, agency: SLN) added 13 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Agrigento moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Ragusa. Agrigento will meet at home Salerno (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Ragusa will play against Avellino (#13) and hope to secure a win.
