Regular Season Round 7: Vitre - Stade Rochelais 71-81

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked La Rochelle (3-3) won against on the road 4th placed Vitre (4-3) 81-71 on Tuesday. La Rochelle forced 19 Vitre turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Gaetan Clerc (189-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). British V.Islands forward Norville Carey (201-93, college: Rider, agency: BIG) helped adding 22 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side guard Matthieu Robin (184-92) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and American center Kyle Tresnak (209-92, college: Weber St.) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Vitre players scored in double figures. La Rochelle moved-up to eighth place in Group A, which they share with Dax-Gamarde. Loser Vitre keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. La Rochelle will meet at home league's leader Etoile Angers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vitre will play against Union Rennes and hope to secure a win.
