There was no surprise in Goteborg where 11th ranked Hogsbo (2-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Mark (5-1) 69-59 on Wednesday. Mark forced 26 Hogsbo turnovers. American guard Chanette Hicks (168-97, college: Norfolk St.) scored 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Darien Huff (175-97, college: Charleston) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Huff is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: WVU) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Ida Fredrikson (172-98) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Mark have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Visby. Loser Hogsbo keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. Mark will meet at home Boras (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hogsbo will have a break next round.
