Regular Season Round 6: Keflavik - Breidablik 80-59

Dominos League top team - Keflavik (5-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Breidablik (1-5) 80-59. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 26. They outrebounded Breidablik 57-38 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Breidablik's players. Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (182-95, college: Okla City) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Romanian point guard Tunde Kilin (173-91) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Keflavik's coach Jon Edvaldsson felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Chelsey Shumpert (165-95, college: Union, TN) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Telma Asgeirsdottir (171-93) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Keflavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Njardvik. Breidablik at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Grindavik. Keflavik is looking forward to face league's second-placed Njardvik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Breidablik will have a break next round.
