No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Thor Thorl (3-1) beat bottom-ranked IR (0-4) in Thorlakshofn 105-93 on Thursday. The game without a history. Thor Thorl led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Thor Thorl outrebounded IR 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Glynn Watson Jr (185-97, college: Nebraska) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Danish forward Daniel Mortensen (204-94, college: Barry) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even 18 points and 9 assists by American point guard Shakir Smith (194-92, college: ASU) did not help to save the game for IR. The former international forward Collin Pryor (200-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 21 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thor Thorl have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Tindastoll. Loser IR still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Thor AK. Thor Thorl will meet league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. IR will play against Thor AK (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
