No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Vitre (5-3) edged on the road 12th ranked Union Rennes (2-6) 70-67 on Friday. The winners were led by American-Haitian guard Derric Jean (188-97, college: Louisiana Tech) who scored that evening 18 points and forward Vincent Fandelet (199-92) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Vitre players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) did not help to save the game for Union Rennes. Guinean forward Cheick Sekou-Conde (203-92) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Union Rennes' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vitre moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams. Union Rennes lost third consecutive game. Loser Union Rennes dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost.
