Regular Season Round 7: Samorin - Young Angels 40-76

The game in Samorin supposed to be quite interesting. Third ranked Young Angels (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Samorin (1-5). Young Angels smashed Samorin 76-40 on Saturday. Young Angels held Samorin to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Young Angels forced 20 Samorin turnovers and outrebounded them 49-35 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Channon Fluker (193-97, college: CSUN) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Valerie Higgins (185-98, college: Pacific, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 14 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Young Angels' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Simona Marcova (182-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Timea Sujova (172-84) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Young Angels have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-2 record behind leader MBK Ruzomb. Samorin lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Young Angels are looking forward to face league's second-placed Piestanske C. in Piestany in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play on the road against SK UMB BB (#8) in Banska Bystrica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
