Regular Season Round 4: Alpo - Torino 79-58
Date: October 30, 2021
Not a big story in a game in Verona where bottom-ranked Torino (0-4) was outplayed by sixth ranked Alpo (2-2) 79-58 on Saturday. Alpo forced 24 Torino turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nene Diene (184-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-93) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals during the contest. At the losing side center Clara Salvini (180-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Justina Kraujunaite (178-95) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Alpo and four Torino players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alpo maintains sixth position in A2 with 2-2 record. Newly promoted Torino still closes the standings with four games lost. Alpo will meet higher ranked Milano (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Torino will play against Vicenza (#14) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
