Regular Season Round 4: Zamora - Ponferrada 77-64

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Zamora (3-1) beat at home 3rd ranked Ponferrada (3-1) 77-64 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in Silver. Zamora made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Zamora had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zamora especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Naturalized Lithuanian forward Erikas Kalinicenko (198-97) fired 26 points for the winners. Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) chipped in 20 points. Guard Jorge Martinez (185-96) produced 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Cape Verdean center Djesom de Barros (205-88) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ponferrada's coach David Barrio let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zamora moved-up to second place in Silver. Zamora will meet Marbella (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ponferrada will play against Burgos (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
