Regular Season Round 7: Igualada - Alpicat 85-70

There was no surprise when 4th placed Alpicat (2-3) was defeated on the road by leader Igualada (5-0) 85-70 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Carles Fons (189-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Eduard Tejero (196-92) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Carlos Gasque (198-93) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Arnau Garrabe (198-97) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Igualada. They keep a position of Group C-2 leader, which they share with L'Hospitalet. Loser Alpicat keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Igualada will meet Almozara (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpicat will play against Joventut 2 (#7) and hope to secure a win.
