Regular Season Round 7: Krosno - Walbrzych 77-78

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Gornik (6-1) edged on the road 11th ranked Krosno (2-4) 78-77 on Saturday. Strangely Krosno outrebounded Gornik 45-29 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Marcin Dymala (187-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kamil Zywert (185-96) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Gornik's coach Lukasz Grudniewski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Vaulet (194-98, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized German forward Julian Jasinski (201-96) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Gornik have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Tychy. Krosno lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with four games lost. They share it with Krakow and Pelplin. Gornik will meet at home Lublin 2 (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Krosno will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and hope to secure a win.
