Regular Season Round 7: Claret - Univ.Valladolid 44-66

Very predictable result in Segovia where ninth ranked Univ.Valladolid (4-3) outscored bottom-ranked Claret (0-7) 66-44 on Saturday. Univ.Valladolid forced 28 Claret turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Guard Alejandro Heras (189-95) helped adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Univ.Valladolid players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Alex Young (202-97) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Gerard Mejias (200) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Valladolid moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with Chantada and La Flecha. Claret lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Oviedo 2. Univ.Valladolid will meet at home league's second-placed Agustinos in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Claret will play against La Antigua (#4) in Salamanca and hopes to get finally their first victory.
