No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Leon (5-2) edged on the road bottom-ranked Avila (2-5) 71-69 on Saturday. Leon forced 21 Avila turnovers. It was a great evening for Rodrigo Llamas (191-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Alan Morchon (188-99) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Leon's coach Luis Castillo used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Guillermo Rodriguez (198-98, college: Dakota Bottin.) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese center Daouda NDiaye (213-96, college: SUU) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Leon. They moved-up to fifth place in Group A-B. Loser Avila dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Ourense. Leon will meet at home league's leader Obradoiro S. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Avila will play against Betanzos (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
