The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Viladecans as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Viladecans defeated bottom-ranked Distrito Olimpico at home 68-57. Viladecans forced 22 Distrito Olimpico turnovers. Strangely Distrito Olimpico outrebounded Viladecans 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Marta Guerrero (-92) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and point guard Elena Silva (173-93) chipped in 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Natalia Gonzalez (-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and guard Irene Ona (170-94) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Viladecans (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Distrito Olimpico still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Marratxi. Distrito Olimpico will play next round against Marratxi trying to get back on the winning streak. Viladecans will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Lleida on the road.
