Alicante has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in S'Arenal, where they defeated Palma (0-5) 90-79 on Sunday. Alicante forced 22 Palma turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) who scored 28 points and 4 steals. Point guard Pedro Llompart (187-82) chipped in 9 points and 11 assists. Argentinian Maximo Fjellerup (196-97) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Bulgarian forward Konstantin Kostadinov (204-3) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alicante (1-4) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Prat and Juaristi ISB. It was Palma's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Huesca. Alicante will meet at home Juaristi ISB (#15) in the next round. Palma will play against Acunsa GBC in San Sebastian and hopes to get finally their first victory.
