Regular Season Round 5: Bydgoszcz - Polonia W-wa 74-80

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Bydgoszcz (2-3) lost at home to ninth ranked Polonia W-wa (2-3) 80-74 on Sunday. American guard Loryn Goodwin (171-94, college: OK State) nailed 35 points (!!!), 8 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Klaudia Sosnowska (186-90) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jillian Alleyne (190-94, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import point guard Michaela Houser (170-91, college: Purdue) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Bydgoszcz in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polonia W-wa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sosnowiec and Bydgoszcz. Bydgoszcz lost third consecutive game. Polonia W-wa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bydgoszcz will play against Sosnowiec (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
