Regular Season Round 5: Larissa BC - Iraklis 55-70

Iraklis can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Larissa, where they defeated Larissa BC (1-4) 70-55 on Sunday. Larissa BC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Iraklis made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Larissa BC turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Iraklis made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: FSU) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). International Giannis Agravanis (196-98, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Gambian Ousman Krubally (201-88, college: Georgia St.) produced 9 points and 12 rebounds and guard Thodoris Zaras (197-87) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iraklis (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with PAOK. It was Larissa BC's fourth loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Aris and Ionikos. Iraklis is looking forward to face higher ranked Apollon P. (#8) in Patra in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Larissa BC will have a break next round.
