There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Livorno Pielle (1-4) beat at home higher ranked Piombino (1-4) 85-75 on Sunday. Livorno Pielle shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Power forward Giovanni Lenti (200-96, agency: BIG) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Tommaso Tempestini (180-87) accounted for 17 points and 5 assists. Four Livorno Pielle players scored in double figures. Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) came up with 24 points and center Giacomo Eliantonio (206-88) added 14 points respectively for Piombino in the defeat. Livorno Pielle left bottom position moving up to tenth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Piombino. Livorno Pielle will meet at home higher ranked Varese (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
