Regular Season Round 5: Azulejos - Sant Adria 65-71

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Sant Adria (2-3) defeated on the road 8th ranked Azulejos (2-3) 71-65 on Sunday. Sant Adria forced 21 Azulejos turnovers. The best player for the winners was Laura Lacambra who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Judith Turrion (179-96) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Eva Lacort (175-89) produced 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and center Ana Hernando (185-90) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sant Adria moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Almeda and Azulejos. Sant Adria will meet at home higher ranked Castello (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azulejos will play against Sant Josep (#11) in Palma de Mallorca and hope to secure a win.
